Our first built work. A rear single storey extension to a post war detached house in South West London.

The Swedish client envisaged a 'garden room' as an addition to the main house to engage more directly with the extensive garden and existing swimming pool.

Influenced by Gunnar Asplund's weekend house in Stennas, the new extension is a simple building with an offset geometry that creates an open westerly aspect toward the pool and garden. It is set away from the house by an intermediary zone.

The copper clad single pitched roof over the garden room with stainless steel cowling to chimney contrasts with the leadwork to the leading edge.
