A refurbishment of a six storey Grade 2 Georgian townhouse in Belgravia with extensive remodelling to the south facing rear elevation and garden.
Much attention was given to maximising light to the kitchen and ancillary areas on ground floor which were deep plan and previously dark. This was achieved through a series of lightwells, skylights and voids from the new terrace and lead roofed extension above.
An existing lift sited centre plan relieved the reliance on the stairs but undermined the previous internal floor layouts. Both lift and shaft were reconfigured and extended to better serve each floor including a new bedroom floor and terrace at roof level and additional family facilities to the basement.
